My colourful 21st

Holaaaaaaa~ After a year full of 21st parties,

The libra baby turned 21 on 18 oct!!!! *clap hands in glee* NOT.

------>Planning for my 21st.<------- div="">

You would think this is exciting, but its pretty exhausting stuff. Especially whilst being caught in the middle of exam preparations, really not cool. I recall having countless ideas that came to mind, only to be reduced to simplicity at its best. Yes, you may name it. 2/3 tiered cakes, lavish decorations, nautical themes are just one of my many genius ideas. I even went hounding high and low for those props also k. Oh, looks like I'm capable of being an events planner! ^^

Some of the pretty tiered cakes poor me could only desire through a screen.

Nautical decorations

Oh, unfortunately, I was on a pretty tight budget, (refer to topmost sentence) and you'll understand.

And I settled on....

A colourful theme! Why? Its so easy, any colour goes! And its cheesy enough to make me start with a sentence like "You lovely people colour my world" etc. HAHA. Adults can be cheesy also right.

Got many wonderful inspirations...

BUT. I was left with 2 weeks by the time I got my theme settled T____T, so....

VOILA!!!! PRETTY HOR.

Balloon pillars done by company Balloons and Me.  (http://balloonsandme.wordpress.com)
A team that pretty much specialises in balloon decorations, balloon sculpting, balloon shows, magic shows, events, roadshows and party supplies.

Thanks to the efforts by dearest Alphonso, who had to lug some 20kg weights and a long pole all the way from his house to the event venue, and even dropped by early to do up these balloon pillars before rushing off for other balloon shows. These 'fluffy & magical' looking balloon pillars brightened up the place and it brought me absolute joy :)

Check out my dress. It's THE BEST.
Don't ask me where I got it, from unless you intend to PURCHASE from me! Cuz I'm definitely not wearing this a second time.
Table of props & polaroids. Thank the lord I saved a huge amount of money here. Props were mostly recycled from friends, and some made by my lovely girl Melodie. ^^
My simplistic plain Jane cake, but amazingly delicious. A 5kg cake, all gorged within seconds! It's cheap to boot too. From four leaves bakery, don't say I never share.
Secondary sch. Lovely bunch forveraaaa~
 BBGs. xx
Poly clique.
The bunch of friends I've made in my last study years. (Uni clique)
 Mark & Shihui
 Ruisong & Simin
 Ben, Nick, Isaiah
YC & Leonard.
Aaron. Hard to meet this attached guy nowadays :(
 Fighting back the tears.

Shall end off this post with a picture of me I really love!

On a sidenote, there're certain fabulous people I'm really grateful for:
Family: Funding my party & all miscellaneous preparations
Relative: Coordinating the event location
Melodie & Alphonso: Props & balloons
Amelia: Props
Stella & Laijin: Music. My party would be so dead without their playlist >.<
Huishan: Purchase of my polaroids, accompanying me in my quest to taste best strawberry shortcake, photographer
Jacqueline: DIY Birthday banners & Guestbook & Fb invite
Simin: Earliest friend to arrive and provide help in setting up decorations

Only guest I didn't snap a photo with was dear Alphonso, but I'm glad he made it back in time bfr i rushed down for my after party!!

And continue part 2 next time!

A scorching Saturday afternoon.

1st pitstop ytd: Lunch at italian restaurant La Forketta, Dempsey Hill.
Spacious & relaxing dining area, with a tinge of class.

ONE WORD. BREAD. AND MORE BREAD.
Upon our arrival, we were served a basket of bread. And we ordered pizza on top of that.
Credits: http://wensdelight.blogspot.sg/2010/09/la-forketta-dempsey.html

We shared a pizza - Yep, it was called Daniele or sth.
Ingredients consisted of salami, mushrooms, pepper, onions, and you usual green, yellow and red toppings to spice up the flavor and color of the pizza.

Crust was crisp, but after a couple of slices, the salty taste of the salami hit me.

I would love to try their pasta or mussels someday though. Seems pretty authentic from all the online reviews I've chanced upon.

2nd pitstop: Sweet cravings for the dessert lover at The Fabulous Baker Boy, opp Liang court, @ the Foothills.

The red velvet is a must try. Smooth chocolate coating with a cake that was moist to the mouth.

Keen on sth less sweet? Try their bitter camo. I'm guessing it was marmalade or sth orange in there. With cereal toppings.
Guess I'll also return to this place to try their green tea with almond praline ^.^

3rd pitstop: Amelia's 21st at Park Green Condo.
Punggol is really one hell of a place to travel to, especially for someone who lives at the exact opposite end. Thank god for my chauffeur for the day. HAHA. I'm kidding, but I really appreciate my friend for sending me over last night.

"I'm blue da be deee da ba dy"

Last pitstop: Meeting Jac & Stella near our townie
Lucky bitch just returned from Bkk, 10 days later, she's making her way to San Frans for 7 weeks summer exchange. Backside haven't even warmed up in Singapore. -____-

Heh. Gna miss her crazy, but I have the other crazy girl to keep me company too :)
Hope she has a blast and gets the most out of this once in a lifetime experience!!

Ciaos~

Crossing my fingers.

So.... I've been a little more busy than usual.

Things have gotten pretty hectic. With a physically draining CCA to top off the existing mountain of schwork I have.

By the term physically draining. What kinda sports come into your mind?
Basketball/Canoeing/Water Polo/Track & Field?

Lol. I don't really know what's gotten into me, but even I've surprised myself by taking up CANOE POLO--->Which is prolly a combi of the 1st 3 sports I just mentioned above.

Goodness knows what has come over me, because I'm a quite an anti-sports cca kinda girl.
Well, I've had my legit arguments for abstaining from sports, though it might be excuses to some.
Like, not wanting to get tan, be too built, cannot run etc.
And by cannot run, I mean it like REALLY CANNOT RUN. Gives me tons of breathing difficulties and a runny nose for god knows what reason la huh.

However, I've decided to step out of my comfort zone and disregard all the factors that have kept me away from sports. I've set my mind to commit to the sport for at least a year or so, and we'll see how things go from there.

Apart from sports, I've quite a number of awesome friends I made in Uni, and that makes up for the depressing lifestyle I'm currently adapting to ^.^
I really love the culture in my Uni, there's always help available and encouragement when needed :)

Sidenote…

When will it be my turn….
To love someone wholeheartedly again.

Happy graduation day kids!!

YAY BUT IT'S SUCH A BYTTERSWEET FWEELING BOO. happy to graduate tgt with my clique but sad that there might be some mates I wld never see around anymore?

I'm really happy to have known my main poly clique, and have several other good friends in school. I'm thankful for all the great memories and laughter AND EVEN SADNESS AND DISAPPOINTMENT you gaizzzz have brought me since day 1 of poly. You people have played a huge part in my life and I sincerely hope that our awesome friendships and memories will continue to accompany me into the future ^^

Throughout my learning journey in NP, I've also had the opportunity to forge many other friendships and learnt much from the lecturers. Regardless whether we were hi-bye friends or acquaintances (camp/friends of friends etc.), thank you all you people for giving me such a memorable experience for the past 3 years! :)
